I’ve been using Chicken Guards for about eight years and they really are reliable. I know people using cheaper alternatives and they have continuous trouble. My doors go up and down exactly as planned! The only time I’ve had trouble is either when the batteries get low or if there’s a lot of ice and the doors stick. But CG units are so easy to programme and use. I use them with Durham Hens plastic houses and the combination is perfect.

So happy with this model. We don't use the light sensor setting, preferring to use a time bound opening and closing of the coop. Had it a couple of months now and it has been faultless. A little fiddly to set up, but once this is done, it can just be left to get on and do its thing!
