Great piece of kit (we now have 3 of them) but could be improved. Every few weeks one of them loses track of it's position and has to be re-calibrated, which is annoying. An option to link to home automation or an app would be useful. The main issue is Lux+ mode. This closes at the earliest event eg light drops low OR a timer is set. It would be better if it closed at the LATEST of these events. Eg it is either dark OR it is eg 10pm. We found 3 coops closed and the chickens all sat not knowing how to get in as the daylight level had dropped a bit, but they were not ready to go to bed. Better would be the timer as a fall back. We simply stopped using LUX+ and now only use the timer.

The door is fantastic . It’s great have the peace of mind knowing my girls are safely locked away from predators. My only comment would be that it was not the easiest to programme, as some of the stages were not clear in the instructions. However, customer services were fantastic, talking me through the procedure over the phone. I would thoroughly recommend the Pro Kit Door!!

I’ve now had 3 chicken guards over a period of 10 years. They are quiet in operation and reasonably easy to set up. I’ve had small reliability problems hence the 3 units. In my humble opinion these are the best of its kind in the market.

The door fitted easily onto our chicken house and works perfectly. Brilliant.

So far so good. Does exactly what we want it to do.

Okay, so this is not the intended use case… but I thought I’d try this for my pet tortoise. He spends most of his time in a secure garden helping me with the weeding. We were bringing him into the house every night to guard against predators. The intention was for when we go on holiday for a neighbour to pop round each evening and put him in his new little house with the chicken guard door set to open and close at 8am & 8pm. Having the door open automatically in the morning means the neighbour only needs to visit once a day and also doesn’t need to go in our house and bother with the alarm. Amazingly, we have had this in place for 2 months and he has been putting himself to bed in his house every night. I had him for 26 years and often finds a new place to hide every night, which makes it a bit of a faff to find him and bring him in each night. I’m pleasantly surprised he now takes himself to bed. The next step is to add a little Wi-Fi spy cam into his house to check he has gone in when we are away (and save the neighbour a visit). The chicken guard was very easy to set up and configure. My only regret is I didn’t buy this sooner. Many thanks

Easy to fit and set up works great

Absolutely brilliant I have had it running now for a month and it has unchained me from my chickens. No longer waiting for that stubborn chicken to go to bed at night before you can lock up. We can now ask our neighbours just to feed and water if we go away without them having to let them out and shut them in at odd hours.

This has changed our lives - for the better! We had an auto door from another company, but it was too small for our BIG hens, and one ended up wearing it around her waist!! So this one, goes up and down easily - we've finally after a week stopped checking on it - because it is sooo reliable. It is simple, yet very effective. Our girls don't seem to be afraid of it - which was an issue with the last one. They come and go freely, from the outset.
